No, the Liifer app itself is not more demanding than a browser tab, and the Overwolf client/wrapper has practically zero overhead.
The Liifer PC Desktop app runs on the Windows desktop as a standalone app (does not require a game to run) and can be operated in large size or full screen mode, providing full view of things such as the My Meals dashboard.
The Liifer in-game PC app, is an app that is running within the constraints of a video game environment, as if the game was the operating system and the Liifer app was running on that OS, thus providing the experience as if it was truly running from inside the game. Therefore, when a game is running in true full screen mode, an in-game app can still be used as it is seen as an overlay from inside the game.
The Liifer in-game PC app runs in a smaller format (similar to the size of a mobile phone) in order not to obstruct the view of the ongoing video game.
Feature-wise, the Liifer in-game app and the Desktop PC app are the same though.
